Warm, earthy and quietly woody, this carrot seed essential oil has the dry, herbaceous character of seeds warmed in the sun. Steam distilled from dried seeds of Daucus carota sativa, it suits slow aromatherapy rituals, simple diffuser blends and moments when you want a scent that feels rooted rather than sweet.
Warm, earthy scent character
The first impression is herbal and dry, with a natural seed-like warmth rather than a bright citrus lift.
Woody notes give it a steady, grounded feel in a diffuser or aromatherapy blend.
Its earthy character pairs well with quiet evening spaces, reading corners and unhurried self-care rituals.
Use it when you want an essential oil that feels natural, understated and less floral than many classic blends.
The dark bottle helps keep the oil tucked neatly beside other aromatherapy favourites.
Steam distilled from dried carrot seeds
This is a carrot seed essential oil, steam distilled from the dried seeds of Daucus carota sativa. Steam distillation is a traditional way of drawing aromatic compounds from plant material, giving the oil its warm, woody and herbaceous profile without adding a perfume-like sweetness.
How carrot seed sits in aromatherapy
Carrot seed oil has a long place in modern aromatherapy and natural perfumery as an earthy, grounding note. It is often chosen for blends where a soft herbal depth is wanted, especially alongside woods, resins, citrus oils or gentle florals. Its character is subtle rather than showy, making it useful when a blend needs warmth, body and a dry botanical edge.
Using it in your space
Add a few drops to a suitable diffuser, following the diffuser maker’s guidance. For skin use, dilute well in a carrier oil and patch test first. Avoid use during pregnancy or with children unless guided by a qualified professional, and keep essential oils away from pets.
