[Mostro] Paraffin wax leather that changes over time. Based on vegetable-tanned cowhide, it is dyed and finished by a tanner in Himeji. By infusing it with plenty of animal oil called tallow during the dyeing process, it retains its moist texture even over time. To finish, artisans meticulously apply paraffin wax (a wax with the same ingredients as candle wax) to each piece of leather, creating a unique, misty, uneven texture on the surface. With use, the white wax on the surface penetrates into the leather through friction, developing a deeper, more lustrous color. The name "Mostro," which means "to transform" in Italian, comes from the way the leather changes over time.
[Aftercare] Small scratches will become less noticeable with a light rub or rub. Generally, simply wiping the leather dry will keep it in good condition. Since the leather is naturally rich in oil, simply wiping it dry will keep it in good condition. If the surface has become slightly dry after a long period of storage without use, apply a thin layer of mink oil. (Note: Too much oil can cause oil stains, loss of elasticity, and other damage to the leather's texture, so please be careful not to apply too much.) [Note: Regarding the leather surface] In our pursuit of "leather-like leather," we dye it using only dyes and finish it as naturally as possible to preserve the leather's flavor. For this reason, some color variation may occur. While natural scratches, scars, blood vessels, and other natural features of leather cannot be hidden, we incorporate these into our products as part of the material's "flavor" and individuality. Thank you for your understanding.
