Product Description: Supplement Gluten-Free Supports Heart/Blood Health Uplifting Supports methylation for a healthy heart, blood vessels, brain and bones.Methyl-Guard contains betaine, Contains 5-MTHF, methyl-B12, and P5P. Methylation helps maintain healthy and constant homocysteine. The methylation process in the body is not only responsible for maintaining healthy levels of homocysteine, but also helps maintain healthy levels of homocysteine, as well as neurotransmitters, detoxification, cardiovascular health, eye health, muscle health, bone health, and redox metabolism. It is important for maintaining several different biochemical processes involved in balance. Maintaining normal homocysteine levels in the blood is associated with having normal cholesterol and triglyceride levels as a primary goal of maintaining good cardiovascular health. Because Methyl-Guard promotes healthy methylation, it helps maintain heart, vascular, cognitive, nerve, bone and female reproductive health. Methyl-Guard was the first nutritional supplement to support homocysteine metabolism and healthy, effective methylation. Methylation, the addition of a methyl group to another molecule (CH3 - combining one carbon atom with hydrogen molecules), has many biochemical properties including neurotransmitters, detoxification, cardiovascular health, eye health, muscle health, bone health and redox balance. Very essential to the process. For methylation to occur normally, many specific nutrients are required. Methylation is essential for maintaining normal levels of homocysteine. Homocysteine metabolic cofactor deficiency typically occurs in older people whose homocysteine levels increase with age. Age-related increases in homocysteine levels and lower levels of folic acid and vitamins B6 and B12 result in reduced binding of many substances, such as DNA and proteins. Providing the nutritional factors necessary for homocysteine metabolism also supports a healthy brain. Many biochemical imbalances that lead to elevated homocysteine levels can be corrected by supplementing with appropriate nutritional factors. For example, folic acid (L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate), vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin), and betaine (trimethylglycine) recycle homocysteine to the amino acid methionine, while homocysteine is converted to pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (the active form of the vitamin B6) also recycles the beneficial amino acids cysteine and taurine. Studies have shown that these nutrients help maintain normal homocysteine levels. Because homocysteine levels are higher in individuals where the enzyme that converts folate to the active methyl donor L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) does not function properly, Methyl-Guard contains 400 mcg of activated folate per capsule. Contains 5-MTHF.
