Officially known as the "Chugoku Expressway Line," the Chugoku Highway Bus is an express bus service that runs from Osaka to Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture (with portions connecting Nishiwaki City, Kasai City, and Kato City, Hyogo Prefecture).
It has been jointly operated by Shinki Bus and JNR Bus (now West Japan JR Bus) since November 1, 1975, and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in November 2025.
From June 3 to July 31, 2024, Shinki Bus launched a crowdfunding campaign for a retro livery and wrapping, which generated a great deal of buzz.
With the cooperation of Shinki Bus and West Japan JR Bus, this Chugoku Highway Bus 50th Anniversary Set features two classic Mitsubishi Fuso Aerobuses.
It is also compatible with the Bus Collection driving system BM-04.
