Shilajit, also known as mumio, is a substance created by long-term biological and geological processes in high mountainous regions through thedecomposition in the rock layers of organic matter from plant remains, marine organisms, rock humus and minerals. This process is entirely natural and takes hundreds of years. The most valuable substances that shilajit contains are fulvicand humic acids. Their abundance, combined with the abundance of natural active substances and minerals, meant that in Indian folk tradition, mumio was considered a unique raw material.
