The second installment of the "Irem Collection" series, which revives Irem's arcade and home console masterpieces for the latest systems, is finally here! It includes three titles in seven versions: the Japanese and US arcade versions, the Super Famicom and SNES versions of "Gunforce," the Japanese and US arcade versions of "Geostorm," and the arcade version of "Air Duel"! All of these are long-awaited titles being ported to home consoles for the first time! "GunForce" is a side-scrolling action game released in 1991. Players take on the role of a soldier, using various weapons to fight enemies and advance through the game. A key feature of "GunForce" is the ability to pilot vehicles and mechs that appear along the stages, including tanks, helicopters, and robots, allowing for a wide variety of attack methods and a flamboyant, spectacular shooting gameplay. This release includes the arcade version, the later ported Super Famicom version, and the SNES version released in the US, all of which support two-player simultaneous play. "Geostorm" is a sequel to "GunForce," released overseas as "GunForce II." Its major appeal lies in its improved vehicles and mechs, unique enemy characters, storytelling presentation, and the spectacular battles where explosions are constantly occurring all over the screen, all beautifully rendered with exquisitely detailed pixel art. Like "GunForce," this game also supports two-player simultaneous play. "Air Duel" is a vertical-scrolling shooting game released in 1990 that supports two-player simultaneous play. A unique feature of this game is that you can choose between two types of aircraft, a fighter jet and a helicopter, at the start of each stage, and they have different attack methods. Choosing a mecha suited to the characteristics of each stage is crucial for clearing them. The meticulous and beautiful 2D graphics, a hallmark of Irem's works, are present in this game as well, and the futuristic and somewhat dark depiction of the mechs has a unique charm. All included titles support two-player simultaneous play (local multiplayer). Furthermore, to fully enjoy these masterpieces, various features such as online rankings, instant rewind function, and save/load functionality are included. A common charm of Irem's classic works is their graphics and music, which express a unique worldview at a high level. The limited edition includes a soundtrack featuring the game's music and a special art book showcasing the masterful pixel art graphics as luxurious bonus items. Be sure to purchase the limited edition, which allows you to fully immerse yourself in the game, graphics, and music of Irem's masterpieces.
