Simple and Practical: The exhaust pressure tester is tested at idle speed and 2500 rpm. At idle, read the lower scale on the gauge. It should not be over 1.25PSI ( 0.086 bar) or be in the red zone. If it is, stop the engine, find the location of the blockage, and repair and unblock it. If the reading at idle is notin the red zone on the lower scale, rev up the engine to 2500 RPM. If the reading is in red zone 3PSI (0.207 bar), there is a blockage in the exhaust system.
