The Evangelion Unit-01, originally released as a garage kit during the broadcast of the TV anime 'Neon Genesis Evangelion,' was created by sculptor Shinobu Matsumura. Respecting the original design, it incorporates bold biological elements, with features such as muscular expression and the base of the Angel, which were streamlined without sacrificing detail or information. The prototype was converted into 3D data and resized to approximately 230mm in height for the plastic kit, with refinement by Shinobu Matsumura himself. The kit includes the exposed chest muscles with peeled armor and a hand holding the Progressive Knife. This product, which was well-received as a plastic kit, is being reissued in the milestone year of the 30th anniversary of Evangelion's broadcast!
