Converse Chuck 70 Low Top 'Parchment' (Unisex) Parchment / Garnet / Egret Canvas Shoes 162062C

The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star is the original basketball shoe and was once the official NBA game shoe. Composed of a rubber sole and canvas upper, it debuted in 1949 and quickly became an industry-favorite basketball sneaker—its design remains unchanged to this day. At the time, basketball player Chuck Taylor joined a Converse-sponsored basketball team, helped market and sell the All Star, and contributed improvements to the shoe; in 1930, Converse decided to add Chuck Taylor’s name to the shoe. By the 1970s, the classic black-and-white All Star gained immense popularity among rock musicians and young people, and was embraced by numerous subcultures; pairing the All Star with jeans and a white T-shirt became a symbol of rebellious culture.
