Saxophone Mute, Alto Saxophone Mute, E-flat, Saxophone Accessories, Woodwind Mute

Product Description: The purpose of a mute is to reduce the volume of the sound produced by the saxophone during practice. When used, it only alters the volume of the sound (the timbre will change) without affecting the sound quality (the pitch remains unchanged). For beginners, unfamiliarity with bowing techniques often results in harsh, grating noises. With a mute, you can minimize the disturbance to others and practice with confidence. If you wish to reduce the volume of a saxophone, place this mute over the bell before playing. This effectively reduces the instrument’s resonance and limits sound dispersion. However, because the saxophone’s bass holes naturally allow sound to escape, the original volume can only be reduced by 20%–40%. Those with high expectations should consider this carefully before purchasing. The mute reduces volume by approximately 20–30% at most; the reduction is not particularly noticeable and depends on the player’s technique. No mute can achieve a significant reduction in volume.
