Split pins (also known as brads or paper fasteners) are primarily used for crafting and DIY projects. Their applications fall into the following categories:I. Children's Crafts & Kindergarten DIY (Most Common)1. **Articulated Puppets**Insert the pin through two layers of cardstock and spread the prongs at the back to secure them, creating movable joints. Examples include cartoon figures, animal cutouts, and finger puppets with limbs or heads that can swing freely.2. **Pop-up Cards & Interactive Books**Create opening or rotating mechanisms within greeting cards; they secure moving parts for pop-up elements, spinner games, and interactive collage features.3. **Journaling & Paper Craft Decoration**Secure journal ephemera, paper flowers, and tags. Their colorful, rounded heads serve as decorative accents, and they are easier to remove or swap out than glue.4. **Collages & Teaching Aids**Used for classroom crafts and educational tools (such as clock hands or spinner aids) to secure rotating paper components.II. Creative Goods & Handmade Accessories1. **Tags & Bookmarks**Insert through cardstock tags or leather bookmarks and secure by spreading the prongs; pair with string to create hanging tags.2. **Leather & Fabric Crafts**Connect and secure parts for mini leather pouches or fabric doll accessories; act as simple opening/closing fasteners.3. **Photo Albums & Scrapbooks**Secure photos and decorative cards; create interactive, flip-style album mechanisms.III. Office & General Fastening1. Secure multiple layers of lightweight paper documents; an alternative to staples that doesn't damage the paper and allows for disassembly and reuse.2. Secure lightweight cards or decorations to cork boards or felt boards (for thin paper items).
