ETRTO is the European Tyre and Rim Technical Organisation. The ETRTO size is the best way to check if the tyre you're buying is the same size as the one you currently have on your bike. These are numbers written on the tyre in the same format as your postal code, for example 48-559.
This means the tyre is 48mm wide and fits a 559mm rim.
