Kumon Publishing Hiragana Dice Blocks (WB-33) is an educational wooden toy designed to expand children's world of words by stacking and arranging Japanese hiragana characters.
- Multi-functional Blocks & Word Play: Each of the 60 cube blocks features a Hiragana character on five sides and a colorful illustration on one side, allowing children to play with blocks while naturally connecting letters to form words.
- Color-Coded Hints: The background colors of the characters vary by row of the Japanese alphabet, helping children search for and recognize letters easily.
- Expanded Vocabulary Options: Includes special characters such as voiced, semi-voiced, contracted, and double consonants (e.g., "da", "pa", "yo", "tsu"), enabling kids to build a wider range of words compared to standard hiragana sets.
- Multiple Same-Letter Blocks: Contains 5 of each standard hiragana block (2 for voiced/semi-voiced), making it possible to write names with overlapping characters, such as "Momoka" or "Joji".
- 3-Step Play for Long-term Use:
1. Stacking: Enhances fine motor skills and sensory tactile development.
2. Picture & Word Match: Increases vocabulary through picture-guessing and card games.
3. Character & Word Construction: Encourages kids to memorize letters and progress to forming sentences, word games, and crosswords.
