Typical applications of the WS10-5 Top Filter string cartridge:
• Mechanical pre-filtration in the main cold water connection in residential installations and in small single-family homes
• Mechanical pre-filtration in under-sink filters (usually on the first stage in two-stage filters and on the last stage in three-stage filters)
• Pre-filtration in reverse osmosis filters (last stage of filtration)
The string cartridge can be used instead of polypropylene nonwoven fabric (polypropylene foam) cartridges - the effectiveness is comparable.
The declared capacity of the cartridge is a maximum of 20 liters / minute. The cartridge slightly reduces water pressure (on average by 0.2 bar). The typical lifespan of a cartridge is 8,000 liters, depending on the level of water contamination.
The cartridge should be replaced at least every six months, even if its degree of contamination theoretically allows for further operation.
