This DC power module is a step-down controller. Considering the voltage drop of the photovoltaic panel wires and the low voltage of the photovoltaic panel on cloudy/rainy days, the open-circuit voltage of the photovoltaic panel must be higher than the 18V input when charging a 12V battery. Two 18V photovoltaic panels are connected in series: for example, 18V-72V charging 12V, 42V-80V charging 24V.
Debugging Method:
1. First connect the 16V-80V photovoltaic panel input (overvoltage input is prohibited, and pay attention to the positive and negative terminals). The power indicator light will illuminate when the wiring is correct. And if the output indicator light is on, skip directly to step 3.
2. If the power indicator light is on after connecting the input, but there is no output voltage, adjust the MPPT potentiometer counterclockwise until there is voltage output and the output indicator light is on.
3. Adjust the output to 14.2V when charging a 12V battery, 28.4V when charging a 24V battery, and 56V when charging a 48V battery.
4. Connect the battery and use a multimeter to test the input voltage. Adjust the MPPT potentiometer so that the input voltage is equal to the maximum power point voltage of the photovoltaic panel (that is, the photovoltaic panel's operating voltage). The open-circuit voltage of a single string of an 18V photovoltaic panel is about 21V, and the operating voltage is 18V; the open-circuit voltage of a single string of a 36V photovoltaic panel is about 43V, and the operating voltage is 36V; the open-circuit voltage of a single string of a 43V photovoltaic panel is about 49V, and the operating voltage is 43V. Different specifications of photovoltaic panels may vary; please refer to the factory default parameter settings printed on the back of the photovoltaic panel.
Output voltage is set to 14.2V, output current is set to 20A, adjustable range: 1-20A, MPPT voltage is set to 17V.
