◆The lid of the steamer is handcrafted by artisans using the strongest outer layer of bamboo. The color of the bamboo skin will gradually mellow after 2-3 uses. After that, the material will become more durable as it ages.

◆You may notice fine cracks or "sasagure" on the surface or edges of the bamboo steamer. This is a natural phenomenon caused by the characteristics of bamboo, a natural material. (For first-time use, we recommend steaming the steamer empty by placing it in a steamer pot and allowing steam to circulate throughout.) After use, rinse lightly with water and air dry in a well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
