Clinically proven to increase muscle carnosine levels. A key factor in regulating fatigue. Increased muscle anaerobic and aerobic endurance. Enhanced exercise capacity so you can train harder, longer. Explosive muscle strength and muscle mass. Supplement. Contains CarnoSyn® - a carnosine synthase. High-intensity exercise. Lactate removal. Endurance. Recovery. Energy. Strength. Muscle size. Lean muscle building. As an anabolic fuel, beta-alanine provides a stimulus to increase anaerobic and aerobic endurance and delay muscle fatigue, providing fuel for accelerated maximal performance so you can finish every workout. Beta-alanine is a non-essential amino acid that muscle cells use to synthesize carnosine. Carnosine is a dipeptide (beta-alanine, histidine) that acts as a buffer for hydrogen ions (acid) produced during intense exercise, helping maintain optimal muscle pH. APS uses CarnoSyn®, a patented form of beta-alanine that has been clinically tested to increase muscle carnosine levels, allowing your muscles to work longer during intense exercise. APS® beta-alanine is a scientifically proven CarnoSyn® supplement that helps you achieve your strength and endurance training goals by delaying muscle fatigue and promoting faster recovery. Once beta-alanine enters the muscle cell, it becomes the “rate-limiting substrate” for carnosine synthesis. Rate-limiting means that without beta-alanine, carnosine cannot be produced. Carnosine was discovered in Russia in 1900, but it was not until 50 years later that the first studies on carnosine and its effects on muscle buffering were published. More recently (2003), researchers have been studying beta-alanine for its effects on exercise capacity and lean muscle mass. Carnosine, on the other hand, helps stabilize muscle pH by absorbing hydrogen ions (H+), which are rapidly released during exercise. Our bodies utilize a variety of buffer systems to maintain pH balance. Buffers primarily serve to absorb H+ and maintain the optimal pH balance needed for us to function most effectively. As mentioned above, our muscles function best within a certain pH range. When the pH drops below that range, muscle function also declines. By maintaining our muscles within a more optimal pH range, our muscles can continue to contract for longer periods of time. The effects of beta-alanine occur largely through its stimulation of the synthesis of a dipeptide (two amino acids) within the muscle called carnosine. Carnosine is made up of two amino acids, beta-alanine and histidine, and acts as a powerful intracellular buffer. Carnosine is found in both type 1 and type 2 muscle fibers, but is found in higher concentrations in type 2 muscle fibers (the ones we use primarily for high-intensity and strength training and are most responsive to growth). Muscle cells rely on buffers like carnosine to function effectively and prevent them from becoming acidic (low pH) during exercise. Muscles need to be in the optimal pH range to maintain a strong contraction and keep the muscle strong, otherwise if the pH drops below the optimal level, strength will decrease significantly and fatigue will occur more quickly. This will also happen when you feel that familiar burning sensation in your muscles or when you lift heavy weights and experience muscle loss. The reason your muscle pH is low is because during exercise, you are breaking down a high-energy compound called adenosine triphosphate, which accumulates hydrogen ions (H+). What if you do a few more reps? If your muscles have more carnosine, they will be insufficient, and you will quickly lose energy and endurance, and your strength will decrease. The breakdown of adenosine triphosphate and the resulting increase in herpes acid concentration occurs in all of our energy systems, but it occurs most in the energy system called glycolysis, which also produces lactic acid. Lactic acid releases H+ ions, which further contribute to the H+ pool that fills your muscles with the breakdown of ATP. The presence of H+ will cause your pH to drop quickly and your muscle function to decrease. Muscles High muscle carnosine levels are associated with significant improvements in strength, muscle mass, and endurance. Maximize your performance and strength with the power of Beta-Alanine.
How to Use: To optimize strength and endurance and maximize muscle carnosine levels, take 1 serving before and after your workout. On rest days, take 1 serving in the morning and evening.
Caution: Do not take if pregnant or nursing. Consult your physician before taking this or any other supplement. This non-essential amino acid increases your lactic acid threshold, which is a limiting factor in most workout sessions. When your muscles begin to fatigue, lactic acid builds up, often preventing you from achieving your strength goals. Push your limits and surpass your limits with Beta-Alanine. Beta-Alanine improves your workout capacity, allowing you to work harder, stronger, and longer than you did last time. Increase the weight you use each repetition. Beta-Alanine improves your strength and endurance, giving you a more powerful workout. With Beta-Alanine, you can push every rep and push through plateaus. Experience the thrill of achieving and accomplishing your goals. Beta-alanine is within reach.
