Nirvana's "Nevermind," released on September 24, 1991, revolutionized youth culture worldwide. "Nevermind" returned rock 'n' roll's integrity and passion to the top of the charts. It's a game-changing album that has inspired fans and musicians alike for the past 30 years and will undoubtedly continue to do so for generations to come.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of "Nevermind," Geffen/UMe will reissue the album in multiple formats, starting on November 12, 2021. The deluxe 2-CD edition features a newly remastered version of the original album and a selection of previously unreleased live recordings. This historic album has been newly remastered from the original half-inch stereo analog tapes.
The previously unreleased recordings, officially released for the first time, include four live performances that document Nirvana's historic rise onstage. The four shows are "Live in Amsterdam" (recorded November 25, 1991 at the famed Paradiso club), "Live in Del Mar" (recorded December 28, 1991 at the Pat O'Brien Pavilion at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in California), "Live in Melbourne" (recorded February 1, 1992 at The Palace in St Kilda for radio station Triple J), and "Live in Tokyo" (recorded February 19, 1992 at Nakano Sunplaza) in Japan. This new CD2 contains a total of 16 tracks, which could be considered highlights from the newly remastered live recordings of the four shows. Four tracks are included from the aforementioned debut show in Japan.
