The Tower of the Sun's interior restoration project is currently underway, along with earthquake-resistance construction work, in preparation for its public opening in March of next year.
Among these projects, a notable one is the recreation of the "Underground Sun." Kaiyodo produced the prototype that served as the basis for the restored "Underground Sun" model.
This product utilizes that expertise to create a new 1/43 scale prototype.
Prototype sculptor: Takashi Kinoshita
Pre-painted, assembled model (base and figure are assembled by the user)
The face, base, and figure are made of polystone, while the coronas on the left and right are molded from zinc alloy (die-cast)
The entire figure is painted champagne gold for a more realistic texture
Includes an oval base

Underground Sun
The Tower of the Sun has three faces: the "Golden Face" at the top, representing the future; the "Sun Face" at the body, representing the present; and the "Black Sun" on the back, representing the past.
At the time of the Expo, in addition to these three faces, a fourth face, the "Subterranean Sun," existed beneath the tower. The Subterranean Sun was golden, measuring 3 meters in diameter, with a corona extending to the left and right measuring up to 13 meters. It went missing after the Expo ended.
