Material: Boxwood
Perfect size for men with large hands (12 inches)
Tassel shape: Cotton tassel
Made in Kyoto
These prayer beads are exclusively for the Soka Gakkai. They offer the texture of natural wood and are designed for long-lasting use. Boxwood is strong and dense, making it a popular material for combs, seals, shogi pieces, and carvings. Its low warping also led to its use in rulers and surveying tools. A strong and extremely hard wood, it is sometimes written in kanji as "boxwood," and as its name suggests, it features a distinctive yellow surface. The wood's surface is extremely fine-grained, making it extremely pleasant to the touch even without painting. The more you use it, the more lustrous and refined it becomes. Frequent use of boxwood, such as combs, will give it a weight and dignity not found in new products.
