The ALX spinning reel, which combines high levels of toughness and lightness, has been completely redesigned with a friction-free design.
Previously, the main shaft inside the body rubbed (contacted) against the inside of the pinion gear, making reeling difficult.
In contrast, the friction-free design, with a non-contact main shaft, eliminates this friction, resulting in lighter, smoother rotation.
Dramatically improved "reeling sensitivity," clearly conveying even the subtlest changes in the line when reeling.
During a fight, light reeling allows for that "extra turn," and even when the fish bites or runs toward you, the line tension remains constant, leading to a successful catch.
The C6 carbon rotor, made from carbon fiber-reinforced engineering plastic, and the DURAMETAL™ (high-strength aluminum alloy) one-piece body achieve further weight reduction without sacrificing strength or durability.
Seven stainless steel HPCR ball bearings + one roller bearing. The pinion gear uses a rust-resistant Salt Shield ball bearing.
The entire bearing is coated with a water-repellent coating to dramatically reduce salt buildup. Designed to withstand heavy use in saltwater.
The instant anti-reverse ON/OFF switch function has been eliminated to improve stopper reliability and prevent accidental operation.
In addition, a new clutch has been adopted to improve reverse prevention performance for winter fishing.
2WAY DRAG™ allows for two settings, "Light" and "Tough," by changing the assembly order of the drag washers.
The unique carbon matrix drag washer allows for higher drag force while maintaining smooth performance over a wide range.
