This recording captures their performance at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium on April 20th, 1981, from their third visit to Japan, the "Glass Houses Tour"! In 1977, their album "The Stranger" and the single "Just the Way You Are" became huge hits. Following that, they had more hits with "52nd Street" (1978) and "Glass Houses" (1980), and won Grammy Awards for three consecutive years from 1979 to 1981. At the peak of their career, their visit to Japan came at the perfect time. While their previous two visits to Japan consisted of two shows each time, this time they performed seven shows. It started with three days at the Nippon Budokan from April 15th to 17th, and continued at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium on the 20th and 21st, the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium on the 22nd, and the Kyoto Prefectural Gymnasium on the 24th. This is a recording of their performance on April 20th, the middle day of the tour, and their performance was in top form. Moreover, the setlist was a parade of hit songs. More than half of the songs performed were singles, and the fact that they did not include any songs from the album "New York Story" (1976), which was a flop, shows their pride as hitmakers. And for the next few years, he would continue to consistently produce hit songs, which just goes to show how godlike Billy was during this period. "Honesty" is played casually early in the concert, and although it was a moderate hit in the US, reaching number 24, it is often said that it wasn't a very popular song in his home country and was only occasionally included in concerts. It was probably played with his popularity in Japan in mind. The backing band doesn't have many famous members, but the performance is well put together and there are many highlights. The sound quality is also good, and it's great that this is a recording of a Japanese performance. A must-listen.
