*This is a competition-spec model with a bind (non-returning) feature. If you're unfamiliar with the term "bind," we recommend searching for videos on yo-yo bind.
This product is intended for those who already have some yo-yo technique. For complete beginners, we recommend the Step 2 or Spin Gadget yo-yos for beginners.
SpinGear Design and Manufacturing's high-end yo-yo model "Katana" is getting a renewal in 2024! It features an A7075 (super duralumin) body and stainless steel weight rings.
From a design perspective, the rim size and diameter remain unchanged, only the width has been increased. While the appearance is almost identical, when you shake it, you'll notice a significant transformation from the powerful, spinning old model to a yo-yo that relies on speed.
The yo-yo string, response pad, and bearing are consumables. If the string breaks or the bearing malfunctions, please purchase replacement parts separately.
SpinGear Design and Manufacturing's high-end model "Katana" from Magic YoYo has been renewed for 2024! It features an A7075 (super duralumin) body with a stainless steel weight ring. While the rim size and diameter remain unchanged in the design, the only difference is the wider rim. Although it looks almost identical, when you throw it, you'll notice a significant transformation from the powerful, spinning old model to a yo-yo that prioritizes speed. The old model, with its brass weight, offered stable rotation, but was slightly too heavy by current trends. This has been refined, with a wider shape that greatly improves maneuverability. The change in rim weight material has reduced the weight from 66.4g to 62g (a reduction of about 4g), but by revising the body balance to increase the weight ratio of the weight ring, it offers a lighter yet more resilient rotation. Furthermore, the wider body makes it easier to handle the more advanced tricks of 2024. The body features a variety of colors including blast, gloss, acid wash, and splash, and the rim weights are also meticulously colored and given a refined appearance, making this a wheel that SpinGear can confidently recommend.
This is a serious bimetal yo-yo. Unlike the 6061 aluminum often found in entry-level competition models, this is a full-fledged competition model made from 7075 aluminum, which has a harder feel. We hope you will enjoy the new Katana from the end of 2024 into the new year.
