● Preamp sound loved by guitarists
The BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble and Roland RE-201 Space Echo were equipped with preamps to accommodate inputs from various instruments, such as guitars and microphones.
This preamp is also known for bringing out the full potential of your guitar sound.
The frequency response changes that were unavoidable with the technology of the time, and the pleasant saturation that could be obtained when excessive input occurred, reminiscent of a vacuum tube amplifier being driven.
This unique sound remains indispensable for many top guitarists, even more than 30 years after production ceased.
The BP-1W is a compact pedal that condenses the preamp sounds of these historically significant machines into a single unit.
● A wide range of applications
In addition to the distinctive CE and RE modes, it also features a NATURAL mode that boosts the sound without adding any coloration.
With three different sound character modes and the LEVEL and GAIN knobs, a wide range of sound shaping is possible.
It's versatile and useful in a variety of situations, such as keeping the effects on to refine your basic sound, boosting a high-gain amp to get tight distortion, or increasing the volume to match the timing of a guitar solo.
● 3 types of modes
・CE: A mode that provides the preamp sound of the BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble.
It imparts a bright, bell-like sound character.
It features a crisp, clear tone while maintaining a robust character.
Boosting your amp or distortion pedal will give you an aggressive drive sound.
- RE: A mode that provides the preamp sound of the Roland RE-201 Space Echo.
It has a warm, fat sound character, and increasing the gain adds a pleasant saturation.
Boosting the amp or distortion pedal will produce a powerful drive sound with a moderate amount of compression.
・NATURAL: A wide-range mode that provides a flat boost.
This mode excels at enhancing the character of your amplifier or other distortion pedals, allowing you to increase volume without adding any coloration or deepen the distortion.
● Two types of buffers to enjoy different tones
The BUFFER switch on the back allows you to switch between different input buffer types.
The STANDARD model delivers a pure guitar tone thanks to its premium buffer, while the VINTAGE model, with its lower input impedance, provides a smoother volume curve and a warmer tone.
*When using the VINTAGE buffer, connecting it directly to the INPUT from a guitar equipped with passive pickups will allow you to maximize its effect.
The standard buffer is always applied when the effect is off.
