Product Introduction
FineMolds 1/72 Jet Aircraft Series Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-104J Fighter Jet "Glory" Plastic Model Kit FF07
The F-104J fighter jet was selected as the successor to the F-86F, which supported the Japan Air Self-Defense Force during its founding period.
With its small, lightweight airframe and powerful engine, and boasting high stability even at supersonic speeds exceeding Mach 2, it was also called the "last manned fighter jet."
Mainly produced domestically, a total of 210 aircraft were deployed, including imported aircraft, and it continued to play a vital role in Japan's air defense mission from the 1960s until the deployment of the F-15J in 1986.
While affectionately known as "Glory" within the Self-Defense Forces, it is now more commonly referred to as "Maru-yon."
The kit is a completely new design using new molds from 2025.
Just like the actual aircraft, the rear section of the fuselage is detachable, allowing for display with the engine exposed.
The fuselage is divided along the panel lines, while the rear section is molded as a single piece, resulting in a structure that allows for a beautiful and stress-free finish.
